BUILT FOR GEORGIA ROOFING AND RESTORATION BUSINESSES

Keep your crews on production instead of buried in estimate preparation.

Georgia contractors work across distinct markets, from the Atlanta metropolitan area and North Georgia to central Georgia and the coast. Every property brings its own roof system, measurements, repair conditions, exterior materials and documentation needs.

After an inspection, someone still has to compare the existing estimate with the contractor's repair scope, check quantities, identify missing operations, organize photographs and prepare the itemized estimate. When project managers carry that workload themselves, it competes with sales, customer communication, crew scheduling and active production.

Claimsters gives your contractor business an outsourced estimating resource. Send one file or discuss recurring project volume. We prepare itemized estimates and supporting repair-scope documentation so your in-house team can focus on managing projects and completing work.

ESTIMATING SERVICES FOR GEORGIA CONTRACTORS

Estimating and supplement support for the work your company performs.

Claimsters supports residential and commercial roofing, exterior trades, storm-related losses, denied and partial-denial files and contractor office workflows.

01

Xactimate Estimate Rebuilds

Review the existing estimate against the contractor's documented repair scope, measurements and project records. Prepare an itemized Xactimate estimate using the relevant regional price-list context.

02

Roofing Supplement Documentation

Identify differences in documented scope, quantities and operations. Prepare line-by-line estimating documentation that connects proposed work to photographs, measurements and relevant technical information.

03

Denied and Partial-Denial Files

Organize the denial letter, inspection photographs, slope-by-slope damage records, measurements, weather information and manufacturer requirements around repair items that need further documentation.

04

Residential and Commercial Roofing

Support shingle, flat, metal and commercial roof estimates, complex assemblies and scopes that may require separate bid-based pricing or additional project documentation.

05

Exterior Trade and Restoration Estimates

Prepare estimating documentation for siding, windows, painting, fencing and related exterior trades. The wider Claimsters service model also covers water mitigation, fire and smoke, winter damage and other repair scopes.

06

Contractor Office and File Support

Keep estimate versions, project notes, open items and agreed administrative next actions organized. Claimsters also offers separate claims-management and contractor CRM support, but Georgia-specific tasks involving insurers or claim adjustment are not assumed to be included.

THREE ESTIMATING FILE TYPES

The file stage determines what needs to be documented.

Claimsters organizes estimating work around denied, partial-denial and supplemental files. Each type has a different review path and supporting-document checklist.

01

Denied

When no repair scope has been approved, assemble the denial letter, carrier inspection photographs, slope and elevation photos, weather verification, third-party measurements and manufacturer requirements. Rebuild the contractor's documented scope and identify whether the evidence supports a reinspection request.

02

Partial Denial

When only part of the work is recognized, document omitted areas, slopes, elevations, limited repair conditions, quantity differences and product information where relevant. Make the gap between the estimate and the contractor's documented repair scope clear.

03

Supplemental

When an estimate exists but misses parts of the work, compare quantities and operations. Potential items include drip edge, starter, ice barrier, detach and reset, concealed damage documented at tear-off, labor minimums, debris handling, steep or high access and trade coordination where supported.

EVIDENCE-LED ESTIMATING

Connect the estimate to the actual repair work and supporting records.

A reviewable estimate explains the operation, quantity and basis for the proposed work. Claimsters organizes the records supplied for the assignment so the contractor can follow the estimate item by item.

The rebuilt estimate uses the relevant regional price-list context, with the price list and date checked before comparing figures against the existing estimate. The goal is a clear, traceable repair-scope document, not simply a higher estimate total.

HOW CLAIMSTERS WORKS WITH YOUR TEAM

A consistent process from project intake to an organized estimating file.

Claimsters' wider operating model combines estimate preparation, supporting documentation and recorded file activity. The specific Georgia engagement defines which additional activities are included after review of applicable state requirements.

  1. 01

    Submit the project

Provide the existing estimate or denial letter, contractor repair scope, measurements, job-site photographs and other available records.

  2. 02

    Review the scope gap

Compare the existing estimate with the documented damage, measurements and work your contractor has specified. Identify missing information and estimate differences.

  3. 03

    Rebuild the estimate

Prepare the line-by-line Xactimate estimate using confirmed operations, quantities and the relevant regional price-list context.

  4. 04

    Organize supporting records

Connect photographs, measurements, code research and manufacturer information to the estimate items they support.

  5. 05

    Confirm service responsibilities

Define contractor authorization, communication role, deliverables and any insurer-facing activity permitted for the Georgia engagement.

  6. 06

    Deliver and record next steps

Your team receives the agreed estimating package, source records and open questions. Any additional follow-up or claims-management tasks are separately defined.

FILE-BY-FILE OR ONGOING ESTIMATING SUPPORT

Build estimating capacity around your project volume.

Some contractors need help with one estimate. Others need a steady resource for residential projects, commercial roofing or a larger pipeline of storm-related work. Claimsters' service model supports individual assignments as well as standing desk and retainer arrangements.

Contractors can discuss residential desks, commercial desks, monthly retainers and storm-surge retainers. The right arrangement depends on project volume, required deliverables and the activities that can be included in the Georgia engagement.

Use Claimsters for a single file, a group of estimates or recurring support. We will review your workload and confirm the service scope, responsibilities and fees before work begins.

Confirm the code edition, Georgia amendments and local requirements that apply to the project date.

GEORGIA BUILDING CODE STATUS

Check the applicable Georgia code edition and amendment packet for the project date.

As of October 30, 2026, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs lists the 2024 International Building Code and 2024 International Residential Code, each with Georgia amendments, among the current mandatory State Minimum Standard Codes. DCA's September 1, 2025 memo states that the mandatory code package it announced became effective January 1, 2026. Georgia's mandatory state codes apply statewide, including where a local government does not directly enforce them.

  1. Check the project date.

DCA separately published an adoption notice for codes and amendments with a January 1, 2027 effective date. Because the listed base editions and amendment documents can be updated separately, verify the specific DCA code and amendment packet that applies on the permit or construction date instead of relying on the model-code edition alone.

  2. Check the exact amendment packet.

The applicable requirements are the base code together with the Georgia amendments effective for the project. Confirm the relevant provision for the building type, roof assembly, component and repair operation.

  3. Check local administration.

Identify the local building department and confirm permit requirements, local amendments and any project-specific instructions before referencing a code requirement in the estimate.

  4. Connect code references to actual work.

Include a code reference only where it applies to the property, scope and work being estimated. Manufacturer installation instructions should be evaluated separately and tied to the product and assembly involved.

GEORGIA CONTRACTOR LICENSING

Georgia has a specialty-contractor exemption, but the defined work scope matters.

The Georgia Secretary of State states that residential and commercial general contractor services performed or offered for compensation generally require the appropriate state licence. The Board also recognizes specialty contractors who may work without a residential or general contractor licence when their work falls within an identified specialty scope under O.C.G.A. §43-41-17.

The Board's published Traditional Specialty Contractors list includes flat roofing, sheet metal roofing, shingles and shakes, siding, gutters and downspouts, fencing, painting and special coatings, among other categories. The Board labels the list as under development and subject to change, so contractors should confirm the current scope before relying on a specialty exemption. The exact work, contract role and any additional trade involved still matter.

Claimsters prepares estimates and repair-scope documentation. Each contractor remains responsible for confirming its own licensing, permits, insurance and project requirements.

Review Georgia contractor licensing FAQs Review Georgia specialty contractor categories

The Board states that specialty contractors must stay within their recognized scope and comply with applicable national, state and local codes. Do not treat a specialty-trade listing as permission to perform unrelated general-contractor or separately licensed trade work.

GEORGIA PUBLIC-ADJUSTER RESTRICTIONS

Keep contractor estimating separate from public adjusting and claim negotiation.

Georgia requires a public adjuster licence to act or hold oneself out as a public adjuster. More specifically, O.C.G.A. §33-23-43.8(k) prohibits a contractor from acting as a public adjuster or advertising to adjust claims for property on which the contractor is providing or may provide contracting services, even where the contractor holds an adjuster licence or has authority under a power of attorney.

This is a limited permission for a contractor to explain its own contracted repair bid. It is not a general authorization for a separate estimating firm to negotiate a claim, represent an insured, interpret policy coverage or receive outcome-based compensation for claim adjustment.

Claimsters' stated contractor-side service is estimate preparation, quantity review and repair-scope documentation. The Company Overview says Claimsters does not negotiate and leaves coverage and claim-value questions to the homeowner's public adjuster or attorney. Any Georgia insurer-facing submission, claim-related follow-up, communication authority, compensation model or additional claims-management task must be reviewed by Georgia counsel and expressly defined before it is included.

GEORGIA CONTRACTOR FAQS

Questions about working with Claimsters.

Answers for Georgia roofing and general contractors evaluating outsourced estimating support.

What estimating services does Claimsters provide in Georgia?

Claimsters provides contractor-side Xactimate estimate preparation, roofing supplement documentation, denied and partial-denial file review, residential and commercial roofing estimates, exterior-trade estimating and agreed contractor file support. The exact Georgia engagement is defined around applicable state requirements.

Can Claimsters work as our outsourced estimating department?

Yes. Claimsters supports individual assignments and recurring contractor workloads. Its company-wide service model includes residential and commercial desks, monthly retainers and storm-surge retainers. The available tasks, responsibilities and fee structure must be confirmed for the Georgia engagement.

What should I send with a Georgia estimating request?

Start with the existing estimate or denial information, contractor repair scope, roof measurement report and job-site photographs. Carrier inspection records, manufacturer installation requirements, weather verification and other project documents may also help depending on the file.

Does Claimsters prepare commercial roof estimates?

Yes. Claimsters' service model includes commercial roofing, flat roofs, metal roofs and commercial building losses, alongside residential roofing and exterior-trade estimates.

Which building codes should Georgia contractors check?

As of October 30, 2026, Georgia DCA lists the 2024 International Building Code and 2024 International Residential Code with Georgia amendments among the current mandatory codes. DCA has separately published another adoption notice with a January 1, 2027 effective date. Confirm the exact code and amendment packet that applies to the project's permit or construction date, together with local requirements.

Do Georgia roofing contractors need a general contractor licence?

Georgia generally requires an appropriate licence for compensated residential or commercial general-contractor services. The state also recognizes specialty-trade exemptions under O.C.G.A. §43-41-17. The Secretary of State's published list includes flat roofing, sheet metal roofing, shingles and shakes, siding and related categories, but the list is marked as subject to change. Confirm the current specialty scope and any separately licensed trade requirements for the actual work.

Does Claimsters act as a public adjuster or negotiate insurance settlements?

No. Claimsters' stated contractor-side service is estimate preparation and repair-scope documentation, not policy interpretation, settlement negotiation or homeowner claim advocacy. Georgia law requires a licence to act as a public adjuster and separately restricts contractors from acting as public adjusters for property they provide or may provide contracting services on.

Can Claimsters submit estimates or follow up with an insurer in Georgia?

That activity is not automatically included in a Georgia estimating engagement. Georgia law allows a contractor to discuss or explain its own construction or repair bid at the usual and customary fee applicable to the contracted work. That limited provision does not decide every third-party estimating or follow-up arrangement. Any insurer-facing submission, communication authority, claim-related follow-up or compensation model must be reviewed by Georgia counsel and separately defined.

Does a supplement guarantee additional approval or payment?

No. Claimsters prepares estimates and supporting records based on the available project information. The insurer makes its own claim decisions, and approval, coverage or payment is not guaranteed.

Claimsters provides contractor-side estimate preparation, repair-scope documentation and agreed project support. This page is not legal advice, a coverage opinion or a representation that Claimsters acts as a public adjuster. Georgia requires a public adjuster licence to act or hold oneself out as a public adjuster. O.C.G.A. §33-23-43.8(k) separately prohibits a contractor from acting as a public adjuster or advertising to adjust claims for property on which the contractor provides or may provide contracting services, while allowing a contractor to discuss or explain its construction or repair bid at the usual and customary fee applicable to the contracted work. This limited statutory provision does not establish that every third-party estimating, insurer-facing submission, follow-up or compensation arrangement is permitted. Those activities must be reviewed by Georgia counsel and separately defined before they are included in an engagement. Contractor licensing, specialty-trade scope, code editions, permits and local requirements should be verified for the actual business, property and project.
